  • What is Botox? What is Dysport? How are they different?
Botox and Dysport are both used to treat and prevent wrinkles, fine lines, and deep facial furrows. By working beneath the surface, Botox and Dysport help reduce the underlying muscle activity that causes the skin to appear wrinkled or folded.
  • How many treatments will I need?
Botox and Dysport will only need one single treatment to show results. However, results last about 3-4 months, therefore treatments can continue upon this timeline for as long as the patient desires. The optimal treatment plan would to be seen every 3-4 months or 3-4 times a year.
  • How long do results last?
Results from Botox and Dysport are not permanent. Effects usually last about 3-4 months.
  • Will my wrinkles get worse if I stop getting it?
No, your wrinkles will go back to baseline (the way they were before having a treatment).
  • When will I see results?
You will start seeing some results in as quick as 3-5 days, but optimal results are achieved at approximately 14 days.
  • When will I see results?
Results are quickly apparent following treatment. After that, the healing process starts, which includes swelling for three to seven days, depending on the number and location of the injections and how your body responds to them. About two to three weeks following the injections, the substance settles, and you can enjoy your full results. Please provide yourself at least two weeks’ notice before any activities or trips in case you still have some swelling and bruises. Plan any events or holidays two weeks in advance to allow for probable bruises.
  • How many treatments will I need?
Because facial fillers are only a temporary fix, further treatments will be necessary to maintain the effects (see longevity info above).
  • What is Filler?
Hyaluronic acid is used to make the face fillers at PMA. Fillers can be used to volumize facial folds and creases, fill in scar depressions, replenish lost soft tissue volume, and remove wrinkles. Our skin is more prone to wrinkles and fine lines as we age, particularly as a result of muscle action and sun exposure. Such damage can be repaired by facial injections of facial fillers.
  • How long do results last?
From person to person and from treatment to treatment, longevity varies. Some bodies may metabolize the substance more quickly than others because the product is being injected into the body. For average lifespans based on therapy, see below: Cheek Filler: 9-18 months Under Eye Filler: 6-18 months Lip Filler: 6-12 months Lower Face Filler: 9-18 months Jawline Filler: 9-18 months Chin Augmentation: 9-18 months Nasolabial Fold (Smile/Laugh Lines) Filler: 6-12 months Earlobe Filler: 9-18 months Sculptra: 2-3 years

  • How long do results last?
Although outcomes may differ from person to person, long-lasting results from PRF treatments are usually long lasting.

  • Why get natural growth factor injections aka PRF (plasma rich fibrin)?
The best way to encourage cell growth within the body is with PRF, or “Liquid Gold,” as we like to call it. Blood is taken from the patient, processed, and then utilized to treat them. PRF has incredible advantages that can be used to promote collagen formation in the body, reduce the appearance of scarring, increase hair growth, and many other things. To create Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF), a complex fibrin matrix rich in platelets, leukocytes, and mesenchymal stem cells, is created from your own blood! This causes the continual production of growth factors and interleukins for 10 to 12 days, speeding up the healing and regeneration of tissue. This 100% autologous rejuvenation method represents a significant advancement over the well-known PRP (or Platelet-Rich Plasma) method, in which growth factors are all released for a brief period following treatment. This is entirely natural. The tubes include no coating, additives, or anticoagulants, and it has been demonstrated that this results in a higher concentration of growth factors being released for a longer period. PRF is utilized in cosmetic surgery to hasten wound healing and lessen scarring. In aesthetics, PRF is used to treat the following conditions either alone or in conjunction with collagen induction therapy: Hair Loss Dark circles Wrinkles and fine lines Tear throughs and deep folds Volume loss and symmetry adjustment
  • Will I need time to recover?
Plan any events or trips two weeks in advance to allow for probable bruising and swelling from injections. Recovery following microneedling with PRF requires 1-2 days and results in reddish skin without peeling.
  • What are the side effects?
According to the Asclera website; “Temporary side effects may occur at the site of the injection, including: Bruising Raised red areas Small skin sores Darkened skin in the form of lines or spots Multiple tiny red blood vessels These side effects usually go away within a few days to several weeks. Some side effects may take months or years to resolve. Although rare, some individuals may experience serious side effects, which may require treatment. These can include: An allergic reaction. Severe allergic reactions have been reported following polidocanol use, including anaphylactic reactions, some of them fatal. Severe reactions are most frequent with use of larger volumes (> 3 mL). The dose of polidocanol should therefore be minimized. A provider should be prepared to treat anaphylaxis appropriately In rare cases, formation of small “burns” or ulcers form, usually due to leakage of Asclera® into the skin. These will heal in time but may leave a scar Inadvertent perivascular injection of Asclera® can cause pain. If pain is severe, a local anesthetic (without adrenaline) may be injected” – ASCLERA® website

  • How does KYBELLA® work?
According to the KYBELLA® website, Synthetic deoxycholic acid is the active ingredient in KYBELLA®. A naturally occurring chemical in the body called deoxycholic acid helps the body break down and absorb dietary fat. When KYBELLA® is injected into the submental fat, it kills the fat cells, causing a discernible decrease in submental fullness. After you achieve your desired cosmetic goal, further treatment is not anticipated because once these cells are eliminated, they can no longer store or build fat. – KYBELLA® website
  • What is KYBELLA®?
Small pockets of body fat including a double chin, bra bulges, inner thigh fat, and belly fat can be permanently reduced with KYBELLA®.
  • Will I need time to recover?
Bruising and swelling is common. Give yourself a minimum of 2 weeks before any events/vacations. Be sure to inform your healthcare professional if you develop an uneven smile, facial muscle weakness, difficulty swallowing or injection site problems such as bruising, hair loss, open sores (ulcers), and damage and tissue cell-death (necrosis) around the injection site. Call your healthcare provider if you develop open sores or drainage from the treatment area.” – KYBELLA® website
  • How many treatments will I need?
According to the KYBELLA® website, each patient receives a different amount of treatments. Based on the volume and distribution of your submental fat as well as your individual treatment objectives, your healthcare professional will assist you in determining the number of treatment sessions you require. You shouldn’t receive more than six KYBELLA® treatments, and each session is spaced at least one month apart. 59% of participants in clinical studies underwent 6 treatments. – KYBELLA® website

  • How many treatments will I need?
The total number of treatments varies from person to person, but three treatments spaced out over a few months are often advised.
  • How long do results last?
Up to two or three years can pass between results.
  • How does Sculptra® work?
As explained on the Sculptra® website, “Sculptra Aesthetic is made with biocompatible, biodegradable, synthetic material called poly-L-lactic acid, which is gradually and naturally absorbed by the body and helps to rebuild lost collagen through a series of treatments administered by a trained specialist. The specialist injects treatment within the deep dermis, where strands of collagen support your skin’s structure. Over time, Sculptra Aesthetic helps the body reproduce lost collagen. On average, three injection appointments are needed over a period of a few months. The number of injection appointments and the number of injections per appointment vary from person to person, depending on how much collagen has been lost.
  • Why Sculptra®?
Sculptra® is an injectable filler for the face. When facial volume is lost due to aging or sickness, Sculptra® is utilized to replace it. It is not a face filler; rather, it stimulates collagen. Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible artificial material that promotes the formation of collagen, is a component of Sculptra®. Deep wrinkles, folds, and lines can be treated using Sculptra® to make you look younger. Deep dermal injections of Sculptra® eventually improve the damaged area. Sculptra® requires many weeks to complete. Not all at once, but gradually, you start to look younger. Nobody knows for sure if you’ve had cosmetic surgery, so they have to speculate.
  • When will I see results?
Within three to four months, measurable benefits are typically apparent.
  • What is Sculptra®?
Sculptra® is an FDA-approved injectable that helps gradually replace lost collagen. It restores volume while tightening and thickening the skin. Sculptra® is not like a regular hyaluronic acid filler that immediately volumizes and gives visible results right away. With Sculptra®, you’ll see a natural filling effect within the first couple days, followed but a decrease in volume. At this point, the body slowly starts to produce its own collagen, re-establishing volume that has been lost over time.
  • Will I need time to recover?
Plan any events or holidays two weeks in advance to allow for probable bruises.
  • What is the difference between filler and Sculptra®?
Hyaluronic acid and other gel-based fillers reduce lines by lifting the dermis area beneath wrinkles and folds. Results start to show right away and can endure for several months. Collagen stimulators as in Sculptra, serve to rebuild the deep, underlying structure of the skin, which reduces the appearance of facial wrinkles. Results can last up to two years and develop gradually over the course of the treatment regimen (usually three injections spaced out over three to four months). -Sculptra® Website
